Lar Horse is a place that restores your hope for humanity. The wonderful views are nothing without the people that live there, protect it and maintain it. A place where kindness is essential.

Tai Chi, Chi Kung and Meditation were my morning routine and was what set the tone for my day.
Meditation is something new for me, but I felt that the combination of Tai Chi and Chi Kung before the meditation, prepare mi mind for it.
Allowing the body to flow with the Tai Chi movements while consciously channeling my energy with the Chi Kung allowed my mind to be at ease.

The experience with the horses is a connection I have yet to understand. A movement within me I wasn’t expecting. Looking forward to coming back for more.

The contrast between deep connection in the breathing exercise and the fun activities, was what I felt the meaning of life is, balance.
Feeling like a child again, was truly magical as well as connecting with my deep inner-self, and I was able to accomplish both in this retreat. Alba Brady

I have traveled to over 25 countries in my 70 years, including numerous retreats of various sorts, and I can honestly say the Tai Chi retreat at Lar Horse in Brazil was the most life altering experience of my life.

Every day began with a sunrise meditation in a gorgeous setting, filling me with gratitude for having this opportunity and the peaceful environment.
Our Tai Chi and Qi Gong practice occurred in stunning settings, including on an elevated hill platform overlooking forest and mountains at Lar Horse, gorgeous wildflower filled meadows, an otherworldly misty landscape of mountains and boulders in Itatiaia National Park, a magical meadow nestled in the mountains where we enjoyed a breakfast picnic, meditation and Tai Chi, and countless other opportunities for contemplation. Efrain Brady is a supremely talented teacher. I have been studying with him over 1 year and would follow him anywhere.

The equine therapeutic sessions were magical and far surpassed results achieved from many years of alternative forms of therapy. Israel is a gifted intuitive, shaman and “horse whisperer”. His abilities are indeed indescribable, one just had to dive in and be guided by his love.

Maria is an awesome Gestalt therapist, creative spirit & so connected to Mother Earth. Her energy is infectious and endearing. Everyone connected with the functioning of Lar Horse is this way.

Oscar, a generous soul I have nicknamed “The Brazilian Cowboy”, is truly the workhorse that keeps Lar Horse operating. He is always working, caring for the horses, chopping the greens that become their food, working with each horse with tender loving care. He is the official Lar Horse tour guide. He has lived his entire life in this small community and engaged every person on our retreat with his big loving heart and infectious smile. And his homemade fudge is amazing!

I learned so much about myself that I had no idea was inside me, all very positive and utterly transformative experiences. The work with the horses is something I was totally unprepared for but will pursue with vigor and honor for the remainder of my life.

Something that really stands out for me are the people at Lar Horse and the attendees. Everyone was full of joy and love of life, with open hearts, and by the 2nd day of the retreat, it was as if we were all one harmonious being sharing all that life here offered. We could communicate intimately often without speaking any of the 3 languages embraced by the group. I loved this and have carried the love of this group back to my life in the USA.

There was laughter and dancing and always amazingly delicious and healthy food, the stars and the Milky Way, horseback rides, a traditional Indian fire ceremony, many fire circles and breathing exercises.
Sufficient time was in the schedule to allow attendees to assimilate experiences & meander on their own for special discoveries.
I will never miss another retreat at Lar Horse, and my advice to anyone interested in this experience is to do whatever is necessary to attend in 2024 and beyond. Getting there isn’t the easiest endeavor you will have, but the travel is so worth it & is just part of the incredible journey.

What an amazing place!! If you’re looking for a transformation, then I highly recommend Lar Horse! It’s a sacred place with amazing people there to hold space for you.

The interactions with the horses were unbelievable. The equine therapy is unlike anything I’ve ever heard of. We didn’t just work with the horses, we made connections with them that were transformative. Multiple people in our group had life changing experiences!

There was Tai Chi/Chi Kung and meditation which was on another level at Lar Horse (in the mountains). We went on day trips to some beautiful parks! The food is also topnotch (local and fresh)! Such a life changing experience. Thank you so much!. Jhonothan Van Winkle

Lar Horse is beautiful, with a spectacular view, it is spacious and all around you can see sunrises and sunsets. Beautiful starry nights, fantastic, with a clear sky.
The experience with the organizers was unbeatable. 5 stars.

The experiences with the practices of Tai Chi, Kung and Meditation were excellent, beautiful, Outdoor Practices in different and beautiful locations. Very well directed and with super positive effects.

The experience with horses was very interesting, because I didn’t know anything about Constellations with Horses, and It touched me a lot, it was a very assertive practice.

Each place more beautiful than another, the walk to the Cascada de la Fragaria, and eating roasted Piñon cook with its own branches was intergalactic. And without words the Itatiaia National Park and the Tai Chi Practice that we did in those spectacular rock formations with the energy of that fantastic place. Ines Delmonte

Lar Horse is a gift for the senses and the soul!

Many times, sitting in the area around the big table, I let my gaze wander over the pasture, watch the horses, cross the woods and reach the rolling mountains that I love so much. The entire space conveys warmth, security and the values lived by its people. Everything here breathes care and affection. The rooms are always clean and very bright, with a view of nature; warm bed, clean bathrooms. Every detail of the decor, outside and inside the home, reflects the love and commitment to Lar Horse’s ideals. Meals were a show of their own, of flavors, colors, smells and music. The homemade bread, the tastiest cheese bread I’ve ever eaten, the delicious dishes, the fantastic teas and juices… Hmm, it was hard to leave the table! We even suggested that they make a cookbook.

The green area is immense, with a deck for various practices, a round for equine practices and a bonfire area for conversations and meditation.

The organizers were incredibly dedicated and loving! They spared no efforts to meet our needs and carry out the planning easy, following the flow of movements. Efrain, Israel, Maria and Oscar guided us in such a way that soon we were like a big family where everyone listened to each other, looked at each other and supported each other. There was room to laugh, cry, sing, dance and also be in solitude.

In short, I felt like someone returning home, full of love, to be with their beloved family.
To Practice Tai Chi Chuan / Chi Kung and Meditation under the first light of the morning, feeling the breeze in my body and the ground under my feet, listening to the sounds of nature provided me with moments of pure connection with the Creator, with Creation and with myself! It was a blessing to be led by Efrain Brady through the practical and theoretical foundations of these Ancient Arts. And I realized, from his loving guidance, that every movement, every breath, every intention flowing in my body, was the awakening in me. And it was very pleasant to practice not only in the domains of Lar Horse but also in the Serra do Papagaio State Park.

My experience with the horses….
It’s a great challenge to talk about something that always goes far beyond words! Constellation and other therapeutic movements with horses were very strong for me and reverberate until today. The horse is a being that, once connected to us, mirrors our soul with truth and without judgment. And with me it was no different. With Israel Sanz as a voice, the horses revealed situations and feelings, shadows and strength to me in a very frank and clear way. Whenever I have the opportunity, I will go through these experiences again.

The recreative activities were a masterstroke! Some, like tours. They brought us the necessary break, sometimes forgotten in the retreats, to rest our minds, settle processes and increase the bonds of the group. Others, such as group games, provided deep discussions, but in a light and fun way. In all of them I felt integrated and happy to participate.
