Breathe the Name of God: An Inner Healing Practice

Choose one of the names of God that you feel connects you with the Divine or one that resonates with you. If you cannot find a name that resonates, you can use "Love."


Inhale and pronounce the name internally as you breathe in.


Example: If I choose Jesus as the name

  1. Breathe in deeply and pronounce the name internally as you inhale.
  2. Hold your breath for a few seconds and let the vibration of The Name fill your entire being.
  3. Release the breath and let go of the emotion or situation you wish to release.

It is important to do this consciously. Identify the emotion, breathe deeply, hold, and release it as you exhale.

Do sets of three breaths, then stop breathing deeply and slowly, and start again.

This practice is useful for channeling and releasing the emotions or situations that are affecting you in the present moment. It is also a practice of inner healing for past situations and raises your vibrational level.
Emotions: Fear, anger, sadness, excessive thoughts, and melancholy.
Situations: Releasing "burdens," letting go, forgiveness…


If you wish to send the vibration of the Name of God to another person:

  1. Think of the person with whom you want to share this prayer.
  2. Inhale and pronounce the Name of God internally as you breathe in, then hold your breath for a few seconds and let the vibration of The Name fill your entire being. Connect with the person in Love.
  3. Exhale.
