Methods to build the bridge between the heart and the brain..
Practice:
Find a safe place where you can disconnect from the world around you. Close your eyes and let your awareness shift from the outer world to the world within. Move your consciousness from the external world to your inner world.
First Step.
Shift Your Focus.
In the first step, shift your focus from your thinking mind to your sensitive heart. To help achieve this, simply touch your heart in a way that feels comfortable (with your palms, fingers on the center of your chest…) and allow your awareness to go to the place where you feel that touch.
This is the first step, and everything we do in the next two steps will reflect this focus. Everything will happen as if the focus comes from the heart. Everything is about the heart.
Second Step.
Change Your Breathing.
The key is to exhale for a period longer than the inhalation. The reason for this is that it acts as a language for the vagus nerve and the parasympathetic nervous system, telling your body that you are safe. One way can be: inhale counting to five, and exhale counting to eight. Continue breathing at that pace or another rhythm that works for you, breathing more slowly than you normally would.
Third Step.
Change Your Feeling.
Feel feelings of well-being, gratitude, appreciation, care, compassion… These are the types of heart-based feelings that establish a low-frequency connection with the human brain. In this step, we send this very powerful signal from our heart to our brain – 0.1 Hz. That is the same frequency as the Earth's magnetic field.
This harmonizes the Heart, the Brain, and all the systems of our body, and lowers stress levels. To make this experience easier and universal for all of us, you can choose to feel gratitude. No matter what is happening in the world around you, there is always a reason to be grateful.
You only need to do this for three minutes.
